ABOUT THE ARTIST
Swathi Konduri is a figurative painter who lives and works in Austin, Texas. Raised in Orlando, Florida, Konduri grew up taking art classes but is largely self taught. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Florida in 2019. She moved to Austin for a job in tech sales but was quickly inspired by the art community and began taking her art more seriously. By 2021 , she quit her job and made the switch to being a full time artist.
She has painted several murals in Austin and works on them in tandem with her personal art. Her multi-disciplinary practice includes the use of oil paint, colored pencil, and digital art. Konduri has painted murals for many prominent local businesses in the Austin area such as Jewboy Burgers, Sammataro & Curra’s. Konduri was formerly a member of the Austin Emerging Arts Leaders cohort of 2024.
Konduri is currently the Studio Manager at Almost Real Things Studios & Gallery at 2324 and is on the curatorial advisory board for Future Front Texas. Her most recent series, titled “Heirloom”, consists of 18 oil paintings and 10 photographs centered around her most recent trip to Bangalore, India. The work examines her relationships with her family and culture.
